Gillians Riding School

We recently sent a team to the Pony Club area Quiz and out of all the Pony Club Centres we came 1st! Thank you to Gillian, for all your support and for training the team. Congratulations to Hannah Doe, Stella Abeya, Tori Partridge and Hayley Perry. Good Luck at the championships!

Today was another successful Children’s Show. We had a fantastic turn out with all of the classes well supported by lots of existing riders and some new faces! Sylvie Hanlin started the day of with a win in the Child Handler with Drummer and the combination also took first in the Pony Club Pony Class. Chloe Kelly was first in the First Ridden Pony riding the lovely George and second was Chloe Sly with Toby.

Imman Islam was first place in the Lead Rein Pony Class on Swift who smiled her way in to first place! After a quick lunch break we finished the day off with a very competitive Handy Pony Class. This was won hands down by Chloe Kelly and George! Thank you to all the staff for helping run the show and to Gillian for all the lovely Rosettes and Goodies (and carrot cake in the staff room!)

Only two days until our next Equitation show on Friday… good luck to everyone taking part!
And an early good luck to the Pony Club Care Competition competitors who will be taking part in the area qualifier next Friday!!!

We had a soggy start to the day, with the showjumping starting in the rain. as the day went on the weather did improve and we finished the day dry! there was a fantastic atmosphere at the show and we were very impressed with every one supporting each other even if they were hiding under ponies rugs! Well done to you all :o)

Happy New Year!

What a bang we had! We had an amazing show with a win, second by a whisker and a 3rd and a 4th! The Liverpool show was an amazing show that we hope to qualify again! the atmosphere at the show was brilliant and so many fantastic memories made!

I have to admit i'm still a little shell shocked from the fire that broke out above Tinkerbell's stable at Liverpool! Thankfully we were safe and evacuated and Tinkerbell is having a well earned rest in the field! we did think that we had lost all of our rugs, tack, rugs, rosettes etc in the inferno. Much to our surprise most of our tack and rugs from the show including her winners rug were salvaged! They are a bit soggy but nothing that a washing machine cant fix! The fantastic firemen even rescued Sydney's First place rosette from her stable door!

Good luck to everyone else at the show day on Tuesday!

What a week we had at Olympia!
Tinkerbell was a super star of a pony and was ridden by Sydney Lee in the Shetland Pony Grand National Finals. Tinkerbell was on form all week and came Home in the Top 4 in nearly every race! Syd and Tink went on to Win on the Thursday Evening performance, and had her Winner rosette presented to her by the awesome Display Team From Chilean. Unfortunately she did have a Saddle malfunction in the lap of honour. It turns out the new saddle wasn't quite as good as the lucky old one!
As you know we raised £3150 pounds at the riding school to be donated to the Bob Champion Cancer Trust, between the team of 10 children who qualified for the racing they collectively raised over £40,000 Shetland Pony Grand National this was donated to Bob Champion himself on the monday night!
Tinkerbell will be home for her pony rides for xmas and then getting ready to be off to Liverpool International Horse Show for the New Year!
